As far as online properties go, I am going to assert that browser-based properties are overvalued when compared to destinations with similar inventories. Any thoughts?

Google leverages data mining techniques to evaluate every major application launch since it became the most used search engine in the world. It is not a coincidence that Google lauched a weather portal, for it could easily see the daily thousands of queries looking for weather related information.
If this is a proven method to deliver results, why aren't we designing games (both console, PC & mobile) with features that allow game developers and production studios to recieve feedback on information of feature use? The only requirement is online connectivity, which is nearly standard now in the gaming industry.
We're already seeing some of this emerge organically as academic research on various sites like Terra Nova. These organizations take a social sciences approach to looking at the behavior of gamers. World of Warcraft, released by Blizzard Entertainment, has created significant interest in the academic circles, which have been using Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games (or MMORPG) for research for over a decade.
Most of their research is achieved through third party scripts and other workarounds, but what if Blizzard implemented an analytic system within their game, for the purpose of monitoring (and therefore incrementally improve) their service.
This could go down to the level of looking at what features are used by what demographic, or where different segments spend there time. The permutations are endless, and the information harvested from the data mining can only improve the game.

I witnessed it first in DoTA Allstars (the only battle.net mod to have extensive third party applications developed exclusively for it's use.)
I am talking about the end of why I love online gaming, the right of each and every gamer to total anonymity. Gender, race, age & location all did not matter, as long as you came to play.
In my decade of online gaming experiences, I had the opportunity to play with a group of skilled of Kuwaiti gamers. Now these guys impressed me for two reasons. Not only were they able to stand toe-to-toe in PvP, but they did so while playing on North American servers which meant they dealt with 1-3 seconds of 'lag' (depending on when Europe was awake.) If you were just watching them play, you would never notice a difference.
Through the same technology which allows us to connect IP addresses to geographical location, a new 3rd party software has emerged which has the simple function of identifying the country of origin for an IP address.
Unfortunately, the new target of this technology has become the online gamer. Browsing the list of public games you will find a collection of "US only" or "US/CA" (United States & Canada) games where they will use this IP sniffing software to enforce their online clique.
I have now also seen the Brazilians do the same, but I think the Americans did it first.
What has amazed me about this software is the number & geographical diversity of players in these online gaming spaces, in almost every game you can find at least one player from a country you may have difficulty finding on a globe.
The skilled player from Bosnia-Herzegovina will now always be banned, and this is a shame. For online gaming used to be one of the last unspoiled spaces.

Accuracy aside, I recently have been introduced to the Google Analytics system and have seen a lot of powerful functionality. At last a system where you can demand total synchronization with your bid side information!
